TREATMENTS FOR DEPRESSION
In teenagers, the best treatments for depression are medications and psychotherapy.

For medication teenagers can take antidepressant such as: fluoxetine (Prozac) and escitalopram (Lexapro) which are Selective Serotonin Reuptake Inhibitor (SSRI). SSRIs are commonly use antidepressant; it moderate severe depressions, it's safe and it has fewer side effects than any other antidepressants. However, finding the right medication and dose for teenagers may take some trial and error.

Another way to treat depression is psychotherapy. Psychotherapy can be individual therapy, group therapy (with two or more other patients), family therapy. There are different types of psychotherapy:
1. Interpersonal therapy - this helps to change the behavior towards their family and friends. It helps the patient communicate to others. This therapy usually lasts for 3 to 4 months
2. Psychodynamic therapy - this therapy determine problems that may have began in childhood which may be the cause of depression. This therapy lasts for months or years.
3. Cognitive Behavioral Therapy - this therapy will help the patient understand and change incorrect beliefs and negative feelings.
TREATMENTS FOR ANXIETY
Just like in depression, the main treatments for anxiety are medications and psychotherapy.

The most effective therapy for anxiety is Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT). I'll helps the patient return to the activities that she/he avoided because of anxiety.

For medication, the patient should only take what the doctor prescribed. Buspirone, an anti-anxiety medicine may be prescribed and other antidepressants are also used to treat anxiety disorder.
TREATMENTS FOR BIPOLAR DISORDER
Bipolar disorder is also treated through medications and psychotherapy.

The right type of medication depends on the patient. Medications can cause side effects. However, the patient should't suddenly stop taking medication because it can make the symptoms worse.

The types of psychotherapy used to treats bipolar disorder are:
1. Behavioral therapy - This therapy focuses on behaviors that decrease stress.
2. Cognitive therapy - This therapy involves learning to identify and modify the patterns of thinking that accompany mood shifts.
3. Interpersonal therapy - This therapy involves relationships and aims to reduce strains that the illness may place upon them.
4. Social rhythm therapy - This therapy helps you develop and maintain a normal sleep schedule and more predictable daily routines.

TREATMENTS FOR EATING DISORDER
The treatments for adolescent eating disorder usually involves a multidisciplinary approach.

Psychotherapy such as: individual, group and, in particular, family therapy.

Nutritional rehabilitation aimed at restoring health and body weight and eventually modifying behaviors related to eating and exercise.

Medication may be only be required if certain psychiatric disorders are also present; most commonly depression and anxiety disorders. Teenagers may have suffer from trauma or substance abuse, or engage in self-harming behavior, such as cutting or burning. It is crucial that eating disorder treatment works to identify and address these co-occurring disorders.
